BI Incorporated will host a charity event in honor of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to finding cures for childhood cancers, on Wednesday, March 15, from 1:30 to 5 p.m. at the company’s Boulder office. BI has set a fundraising goal of $30,000 for the event and the company will reach out to staff, families, community organizations, even the company’s correctional partners for support.
St. Baldrick’s Foundation was formed in 2000 after a group of individuals held a fundraiser for children’s cancer research on St. Patrick’s Day. The foundation encourages organizations to coordinate events in local communities on or around St. Patrick’s Day.
Participants will receive a head shave by a professional stylist, demonstrating their solidarity with childhood cancer victims, or make a monetary donation. For those not interested in a full shave, BI is coordinating donations of hair to Locks of Love and Pantene, organizations with similar missions, at this St. Baldrick’s event. To date, nearly a dozen participants have registered as “shavees” and raised almost $2,000.
To participate as a volunteer or “shavee,” you must register at BI’s St. Baldrick’s Foundation event page. Visit St. Baldrick’s Foundation (BI is event #6542) to learn more, register or to make a donation.
